CPI Director, Dr. Gamal Hamid, participated in a workshop entitled, “Vision and Strategic Objectives for Sana’a Development Strategy – Sana'a 2025”. The workshop was organized jointly by the Municipality of Sana’a, the World Bank, as well as AUDI, with the aim to shape a vision and define the objectives of a long-term development strategy. The workshop was held on Sunday 11th February, 2007, at Taj Sheba Hotel. It was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. Yahia Al-Shuaibi, State Minister, Mayor of Sana’a and President of Sana’a Local Council. The workshop was honored by the participation of Mr. Abdul Karim Al-Arhabi, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation. About 60 participants participated in this workshop, representing the Municipal Council, universities, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as World Bank and AUDI experts.
Dr. Gamal delivered a presentation entitled, “Integration of the Needs of Children and Young People in Sana’a Development Strategy". He also facilitated a working group consisting of 12 participants who exchanged ideas on visions and objectives, as well as obstacles and challenges pertaining to the proposed development strategy.
