The CPI Director,  Dr. Gamal Hamid,  made a visit to the city of Alexandria ( 18^th- 20^th September,  2006),  with the aim to participate in the second  meeting organised by the Alexandria Committee ,  the aim of which is to ensure the protection of children exposed to risk factors.   In the course of his visit to Alexandria,  Dr. Gamal Hamid  establised a follow up of the bilateral projects  undertaken and implemented by the Alexandria  Municipality,  the UNICEF  organisation ( the Cairo Bureau),  and the CPI,  in the framework  of the jointly signed convention of March / April,  2006.

On September  19^th,  2006,  Dr. Gamal Hamid,   together with the UNICEF delegation ( the Director of  UNICEF programmes,  and the Director of the Child protection Programmes ),  and the  Coordinator of the child protection project of Alexandria,  made an official visit to a number of youth centres and associations that are partners in the implementaion of  the projct,  with the aim to follow up the progress made in the implementation of agreed upon missions in each respective  centre and association.

In addition to this, Dr. Gamal Hamid participated in a second meeting organised by the Committee of the Municipality of Alexandria.  The UNICEF delegates and numerous partners of the  project also participated in this meeting,  including the presidents of headquarters and the directors of local  administratins and associations.  This meeting highlighted the progress made in the implementation of the project undertaken in May ,  2006,  as well as the difficulties that emerged in the course of its implementation .
