In order to establish a follow up of the implementation of programmes undertaken by Khartoum State, in the framework of the MOU signed by Khartoum State and the MENA CPI Director, Dr Gamal Mahmoud Hamid has paid a visit to the centre of Children and Youth of Jabal Al Awlia ( : Al Azhari and Nasr units), where he overviewed the academic programmes of alternative education offered to children who failed to benefit from the formal education offered by public schools. Dr Gamal also overviewed the professional and training programmes, including ‘Life Skills’, offered to children of both sexes, with the participation of the Organization of ‘Dar Al Arqum’ For professional Training .
Dr Gamal also inaugurated a library sponsored by the CPI, at Souba Social Center, the aim of which is to promote education for the benefit of children and youth at Al Azhari and Nasr. This library contains books, in addition to one computer and another computer for electronic games. Dr Gamal also inaugurated a similar library at Oum Badda, hosted by the Centre of the National Union of Sudanese Youth . The two libraries will hopefully be provided with more books, more journals, and more computers, with the aim to make of both the centres of learning and culture for the benefit of all children in Oum Badda and Jabal Al Awlia.
Dr Gamal has also participated with leading political authorities at Oum Badda, in the allocation of 10 productive projects, to poor families, who were selected on the basis of a social study, with the aim to protect the children of their children from homelessness.
